Conscious Acts of Kindness

Writer: Buddha SlimBuddha Slim

One of the ways I practice a positive psychology is by doing conscious acts of kindness! This photo is from one of our carrorist workshops. We have the students and staff write a thank you, gratitude card to whomever they desire, I even encourage them to make one for a pet or a plant. What's so beautiful about this simple yet effective practice is the tremendously positive responces from the recipients! These #carrorist acts, as I call them, are so impactful because they are delivered when no one is expecting them, a non holiday! This one parent I ran into said she cried with tears of joy when her son gave her husband a card that said "thank you dad, you're my hero". She said it was so unexpected and they truly felt affirmed in the good parenting work they were doing! Many of the kids sweetly ask if they can make more that one card becasue they realize that they are #grateful for the #kindness of more than one person in their life. Like the children, when we stop to reflect on the kindness of others, we instantly experience #gratitude. Gratiude and kindness are redily available #healthywords that help you thrive in your positive psychology practice. #worldkindnessday #carrorism #carrorize #positivepsychology
